Upgrade Remote Aircraft Fueling Facility
Sitkinak Island, Alaska
This project, completed by Silver Mountain Construction, provided for the design and construction of a unique remote fueling station. The project included the demolition of the existing facility and replacement with a new system. The new fueling system included a Mechanical Fuel Shelter and an Electrical Support Shelter. Due to this facility being unmanned the system was designed and constructed to provide fuel inventory and alarm reporting to the manned USCG Air Station in Kodiak. Both shelters were specifically designed to withstand the extremely harsh weather conditions that occur at Sitkinak.
