University of South Alabama Hancock-Whitney Stadium

Mobile, Alabama

The University of South Alabama’s football program received a major addition with the construction of its new on-campus football stadium, Hancock-Whitney Stadium. The new stadium is situated on the university’s campus next to the indoor practice facility. The stadium also includes a 34,749 SF, four-story steel-framed press tower, a 45,620 SF operations building, and 36,569 SF concession buildings. The facility totals 375,938 SF and includes a 45’ x 100’ steel-framed scoreboard structure positioned at the south end of the field.

Throughout the history of the university’s football program, the team has played its home football games at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, located in midtown Mobile. This project marks the first on-campus football stadium for the university. The University hopes that the presence of an on-campus football stadium will increase attendance, improve campus life and recruiting, and provide another social venue for the community of Mobile at large.
