NOC Grand Opening and Safety Celebration
Last month, on June 20, The One Hanford Team held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commission the Hanford Network Operation Center (NOC). The NOC was recently relocated from the client’s space to the North Wind office in Richland, WA.
The NOC operates 24/7/365 and monitors all activity on the Hanford network, including:
- 600 buildings
- 12,000 phone lines
- 8,500 users
- 1,250 Servers
- +20,000 endpoints
- 200 enclave and isolated industrial control system (ICS) Networks
Moving the NOC to North Wind’s office is a huge vote of confidence from our customer and a boost in morale for the Network Operators. The move locates the NOC adjacent to the Hanford Security Operations Center (SOC), also located in the North Wind Richland office. The co-location of these two critical centers enhances each team’s interaction and collaboration in operating and protecting the Hanford IT enterprise.
Following the ribbon cutting, the North Wind team gathered for a summer safety celebration, which included the grand opening of the NOC and the celebration of 2 million hours worked. North Wind is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI), an Alaska Native Corporation (ANC). The entire team was thrilled to have CIRI President Sarah Lukin join the celebration.
