NWCS Awarded Demolition Project at Santa Susana Field Laboratory
Idaho Falls, Idaho –North Wind Group is pleased to announce that North Wind Construction Services, LLC (NWCS) was awarded a task order from the Department of the Army Huntsville Center, Corps of Engineers supporting the Pacific Region Facilities Reduction Program (FRP). NWCS will perform phase two removal of facilities and infrastructure at the Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL) Delta Area, Ventura County, CA. Services include tank, building, concrete, and miscellaneous structure demolition; building abatement; waste management; and site restoration.
Kevin Redmond, NWCS President states, “We are extremely excited to serve this client through the FRP contract and extend our presence at the Santa Susana site. This project win will add to our growing work in Southern California and expand North Wind’s western operations.”
NWCS was awarded the Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) in June 2015, allowing us to bid competitively on individual task orders throughout Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. The purpose of this MATOC is to reduce the Federal Government’s inventory of excess facilities, thereby saving energy and maintenance cost; eliminating safety hazards, nuisances and unsightly structures; and freeing up valuable real estate for future development.
The project kicked off in September of 2016 and is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2017. The NWCS project team is supported by key subcontractors, including Performance Abatement Services, Northwest Dismantling and Demolition, and Environmental Intelligence.
