LOS ALAMOS, N.M., April 16, 2009 — Los Alamos National Security, LLC recently awarded subcontracts for a total of more than $753 million to several small businesses.
A contract signing ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday (April 17) at the Hotel Blue, 717 Central Ave. NW in Albuquerque. New Mexico Senator Jeff Bingaman is scheduled to attend.
“These subcontract awards for products and professional services demonstrate the Laboratory’s continued investment in New Mexico small businesses and our support of local communities in the area of economic development,” said Kevin Chalmers of Los Alamos’s Acquisition Services Management Division.
Two subcontracts totaling $28 million were awarded to companies to conduct well-drilling operations. A contract with Terranear PMC (TPMC), LLC is for three years with an option to extend for another two years. A contract with North Wind, Inc. is for three years with an option to extend for another two years.
COMPA Industries, Inc., a vendor management services firm that specializes in federal staff augmentation, received a $395-million subcontract over five years with an option to extend for another five years.
Technology Integration Group (TIG) received a $98-million subcontract to provide Dell computers. The contract is for three years with an option to extend for another four years.
Holman’s Inc. was awarded two subcontracts, one valued at $42 million to provide Apple computers and another, valued at more than $37 million, to provide Hewlett Packard computers.
Both subcontracts are for three years with an option to extend for another four years.
Frank’s Supply Company, Inc. received a $24-million subcontract for electrical tools, wire, and cable. The contract is for three years with an option to extend for another four years.
Hacienda Home Centers, Inc. was awarded an $11-million contract for hardware and plumbing supplies. The contract is for three years with an option to extend for another four years.
LANS also awarded a contract valued at about $6 million to Portage, Inc. for engineering and environmental services.
Last fall, the Laboratory awarded $120 million in subcontracts to TSAY Construction and Services, LLC of Ohkay Owingeh, CNSI Inc., TEAM Technologies Inc., and Fiore Industries.
