NWI’s new COO – John Law, P.E.
North Wind welcomes its new Chief Operations Officer, Mr. John E. Law. John comes to North Wind from Washington Group International, where he was Operations Manager for Project Solutions. As such, he was responsible for managing and overseeing the financial performance of federal projects (primarily for the DOE and DoD) and project offices in the central and western U.S., as well as Iraq. John was responsible for projects involving environmental remediation of hazardous and radioactive sites, decontamination, demolition, engineering design, and facility retrofit and construction projects.
Previously, John was a Vice President of Rocky Mountain Remediation Services (RMRS), a subsidiary of Washington Group International. RMRS was the contractor responsible for nuclear operations, environmental restoration, and waste management at Rocky Flats, a former nuclear weapons component-manufacturing site. John’s responsibilities included; project management, Decontamination & Decommissioning (D&D) (planning and selected facilities), management of the environmental remediation program, site water management and treatment (surface water, groundwater, process water and sanitary), and management of multiple nuclear facilities.
With expertise in program and project management, facility operations (including nuclear), regulatory negotiation, development and implementation of accelerated remedial actions, water management and treatment, site closure, business development, and litigation support, John has a proven track record of project success. He also has experience on RCRA and CERCLA sites, and is a BCSP/AIHA Construction Safety Trained Supervisor.
