North Wind Wins $28 Million Air Force Contract

Idaho Falls ID. February 6, 2009 – North Wind, Inc., an Idaho Falls based environmental and engineering services firm, announced today the award of a $28 million contract for the replacement of the Charleston Runway at Charleston Air Force Base in Charleston South Carolina.

The contract was awarded to North Wind in a competitive bid over seven other competitors.

This award is very exciting and it comes at a particularly important time, as we move to expand the capabilities of our company,” said Sylvia Medina, North Wind president. “The competition for this contract was exceptionally strong, and I’m very proud of our team that put together a phenomenal proposal and approach.

Charleston AFB, is the home of the 437th Airlift Wing, and is located about 10 miles from downtown Charleston on approximately 3400 acres of land within the North Charleston city limits. The 437th Airlift Wing is part of the Air Mobility Command (AMC) and is aligned under 21st Air Force at McGuire AFB, NJ.
