John is a Senior Executive with 32 years of industry experience spanning both small private businesses and large public companies. As Acting President and CEO, and COO at North Wind Group (North Wind), a Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) company owned by nearly 10,000 shareholders, he leads a $500 million enterprise with over 1,500 employees, delivering environmental, engineering, construction, mission support, and facility operations to federal and commercial clients across the United States and internationally.
John is a values-driven leader who applies a strategic, entrepreneurial approach to transform market opportunities into sustainable growth and operational excellence. He models a winning culture by putting people first and focusing on North Wind customers and shareholders.
During the past decade, John has played a key leadership role on North Wind’s Executive Leadership Team, including the company’s Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Team Lead. His contributions have helped drive more $4.1 billion in gross revenue while consistently delivering profitability that ranks among the top 10% of industry peers.
John is a registered Professional Geologist (PG) and an accredited Project Management Professional (PMP). He has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, a Master of Science in Hydrogeology, a Master of Business Administration, and has completed Executive Education in Leadership and Business at Dartmouth College.
John resides in Idaho with his wife and is the proud father of two adult sons and a daughter-in-law. He is passionate about supporting educational, humanitarian, and charitable causes and serves as an Admissions Partner for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. A certified SCUBA diver for more than 40 years, John enjoys pursuing demanding fitness activities, including mountain hiking, running with his dog, and competing in open-water swimming events.
