North Wind Nuclear Safety Support personnel have broad responsibility to assist in planning, directing, and administering all technical and operational aspects of the overall nuclear safety and environment, safety, and health (ES&H) programs and serve as a main point of contact for these programs.

They assess reports and monitor follow-up on findings of noncompliance and notices of violations and negotiate and coordinate issues pertaining to nuclear safety and ES&H actions with officials in higher echelons, as well as with federal, state, and local regulatory authorities. Nuclear Safety Support personnel serve as recognized experts in managing nuclear safety and ES&H issues and advising top management, supervisors, staff, and operating officials on matters concerning compliance and prevention initiatives.
