North Wind Construction Services Wins Coeur d’Alene Basin Cleanup Contract

Kellogg, Idaho – North Wind Construction Services, LLC was recently selected by the Coeur d’Alene Trust for the East Fork Ninemile Creek Waste Consolidation Area and Infrastructure Project. The project is located 7 miles north of Wallace, Idaho, within the Upper Basin of the Coeur d’Alene River.

North Wind, in conjunction with our teaming partners – Zanetti Brothers, Inc. and Peak Sand & Gravel – will build a waste consolidation area that will support cleanup projects in the Coeur d’Alene Basin. Contaminated soils and mine tailings will be taken from the old mine sites throughout the Ninemile area and contain them to a much smaller, isolated location. This will help control the primary sources of heavy metals, including lead and zinc, in the area. Work on this project is being carried out under the Environmental Protection Agency’s record of decision for the Superfund cleanup.

According to North Wind Construction Services President, Kevin Redmond, “We are extremely pleased to continue our ongoing relationship with the Coeur d’Alene Trust and are committed to environmental cleanup in the Coeur d’Alene Basin. This project will be completed using primarily local, highly skilled labor resources.”

North Wind Construction Services is based in Kellogg, Idaho, and provides heavy civil construction services with an emphasis on environmental remediation and reclamation. The North Wind Group of companies is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cook Inlet Region, Inc., and is headquartered in Idaho Falls, Idaho. North Wind is a small business leader in the environmental, engineering and construction service industries, supporting federal and state agencies and private industry throughout the U.S.
